Executive Summary
Siemens has brought young blood to its top management with changes to its management, supervisory and auditing boards. Klaus Kleinfeld has assumed the position of president & CEO of the management board of the Munich, Germany-based group, replacing Heinrich von Pierer. Since joining Siemens in 1987, Dr Kleinfeld has led a number of the group's divisions, including its $1bn angiography, fluoroscopy and X-ray systems business. In turn, Dr von Pierer has replaced Karl-Hermann Baumann as supervisory board chairman, after six years. Dr Baumann, who has been at Siemens since 1970 and now retires, has also vacated the chair of the group's auditing board, and has been replaced by Dr Gerhard Cromme.
