Executive Summary

US spinal implant firm Innovasis has submitted to the US FDA a 510(k) marketing application for its cervical plate system. OpteryX is a cervical plate with a self-locking mechanism with features that include: no-step locking, one to four level plates, and apertures for easy graft visualisation with variable, fixed and self-tapping screws. The Salt Lake City, Utah firm said it expected to gain US market clearance for the product in the second half of 2006.
