Fonar, the Melville, New York-based developer of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, has appointed Cologne, Germany-based Tecserena as its new European representative and distributor. Tecserena, which was established as a dedicated sales outlet for Fonar's MRI systems, is managed by three former employees of Hitachi Medical Systems: Matthias Schulz, Alfred Schlemmer and Holger Frey. The company has already begun marketing throughout Europe the Fonar Upright MRI system, the US firm's latest reclining scanner, the Fonar 360, and its "work-in-progress" operating room MRI.
