Executive Summary
The newly-formed German industry working group on pressure ulcers, which is being overseen by the trade association BVMed, has set the date of its next strategy-setting meeting as May 16. BVMed's Daniella Piossek, the current co-ordinator and spokesperson, says that the session will discuss the best ways of integrating industry specialists into the work of the group and settling on its remit. The WG will have achieved its aims if it: succeeds in making patients, payers and healthcare providers more aware of the condition; stimulates an increase in care for the patient population; encourages the drafting of federal-wide standards of care for the healthcare insured; and highlights the range of aids available. The WG chair has yet to be appointed.
