Expanding its broad range of medical navigation systems, Johnson & Johnson-subsidiary BioSense Webster has secured exclusive worldwide rights to distribute Siemens Medical Solutions' Acuson AcuNav ultrasound catheters. The FDA-approved device, which Siemens will also sell through its own sales force, provides real-time ultrasound imaging inside the heart and direct visualisation of both blood flow and other catheters. Aside from the distribution aspect, the agreement will see the two companies collaborating on future products aimed at electrophysiologists.
