The European Commission has published in the Official Journal of the European Union on January 12 2006 new details concerning a European electromedical standard for IVD equipment. The standard reference is EN 61010-2-101: 2002, and its title is Safety requirements for electrical equipment for measurement, control and laboratory use - Part 2-101: Particular requirements for in vitro diagnostic (IVD) medical equipment. It is based on the modified IEC equivalent standard, IEC 61010-2-101: 2002.
