HemoSense has appointed ZyCare as a US distributor of its portable INRatio monitoring system, used for measuring prothrombin time (PT) - the time it takes for the blood to clot - in patients taking the anticoagulant warfarin. The agreement, of which the financial details were not disclosed, is renewable annually. ZyCare will bundle the INRatio system with its own web-based CoagCare reporting and management system, which will enable doctors to remotely supervise warfarin patients using INRatio at home. The package will be available through ZyCare from March onwards.
