Executive Summary
The UK's prostate cancer charity will henceforth be known as Prostate UK, in a move designed to reinforce its broad focus. This, it stresses, extends beyond campaigning and information provision to supporting research and the training of healthcare professionals. Some 10,000 UK men die of prostate cancer annually, many because diagnosis is not made early enough. Other diseases of the prostate, BPH and prostatitis, are less talked about but significantly affect quality of life, says Prostate UK, which next month will launch national and regional advertising campaigns to alert men to all forms of prostate disease.
