PEOPLE - Varian Medical Systems makes appointment:

Varian Medical Systems (Palo Alto, California) has appointed radiation oncology expert Steven Leibel to the firm's board of directors and to its nominating and corporate governance committee. He replaces Dr Allen Lichter, who has retired to focus on his duties as CEO of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr Leibel is the medical director of Stanford Cancer Center, associate director of the centre's clinical research and care division, and professor of oncology at Stanford University's medical school. Varian manufactures medical devices for radiology-based treatments.
