USHIFU, exclusive distributor in the American continent of the Sonablate 500 high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) system for the treatment of prostate cancer, has announced the opening this month of the "Argentina HIFU clinic", in Buenos Aires. Ahead of an agreed partnership with the city's CDU private clinic, doctors from the latter are said to have performed the country's first HIFU procedures - the first involving the Sonablate 500 in the whole of South America, according to Argentina HIFU manager Eric van Kregten.
