Executive Summary

Malvern, Pennsylvania-based orthopaedic and surgical product maker Orthovita has named R Scott Barry (a principal at Essex Woodlands Health Ventures), Paul Thomas (chairman & CEO at LifeCell) and William Tidmore (former president and chairman of DePuy) to the board. Mr Barry has joined in connection with the closing of a $32.5m equity offering, with Essex as the lead investor. Board members Joseph Harris, Robert Levande and Russell Whitman resigned in July, with no reason having been given.
