China to boost high-tech with international tie-ups:

Alliances between Chinese and international manufacturers of high-tech medical equipment are set to be targeted for investment and development assistance from the Beijing-based China national machinery and foreign economic and technological co-operation corporation (CMIC). According to the China Association for Medical Devices Industry (CAMDI), makers of equipment including radiology, endoscopy and surgery are to be offered financial, production and market development assistance. The initiative aims to help companies: develop strong production lines and sales networks; reduce product costs; expand markets; improve product lines; and achieve long-term strategic co-operation.
