Executive Summary
Brazilian and Argentine state bioscientists have met to discuss "progress in the development of new healthcare technologies", in a move that takes forward plans to jointly produce key medicines and diagnostic reagents. A three-day conference held in the Buenos Aires headquarters of the Argentine government's office of laboratories and healthcare institutes (ANLIS - Administracion Nacional de Laboratorios e Institutos de Salud) at the end of May hosted a delegation from Brazil's immunobiological technologies institute, also known as Bio-Manguinhos. The two governments signed a co-operation agreement in 2005 (see Clinica Nos 1172, p 3 & 1169, p 2).
