Executive Summary
In a bid to consolidate its presence in Asia, North Andover, Massachusetts firm Aurora Imaging Technology has set up Aurora Asia, a wholly owned subsidiary based in Taipei, Taiwan. The unit will be headed by Dr Pai-Jung Huang, previously international clinical director of the US company. Aurora has had a presence in Asia since 2006, having already sold one of its 1.5Tesla dedicated breast MRI systems, with two further sales planned for the third quarter of 2007. It hopes that having direct operations in the region will enable the company to "aggressively expand" its business throughout Asia, where breast cancer is now the leading cause of cancer-death in women.
