Regenerative medicine specialist Integra LifeSciences has added to its existing pain management programme with the acquisition of certain assets from Physician Industries for $4m in cash. The products acquired under the deal include customised trays for acute and chronic back pain, and the transaction sees all of Physician's employees, including former president Brian Baker (who will now take on a management role) move to Integra. The business will continue to function from its operating facilities in Salt Lake City, Utah, with ownership of the leases now transferring to Integra. Plainsboro, New Jersey-based Integra said that the acquisition would be a fundamental change to its Spinal Specialities product brand and continue the growth of the business.
