Executive Summary

Atrium Medical has received US FDA 510(k) clearance for its rapid-exchange therapeutic perfusion catheter for localised therapeutic agent delivery within small calibre vessels. The ClearWay RX is a low pressure perfusion catheter that incorporates a microporous PTFE balloon material to deliver small quantities of medication to discrete targeted locations. The catheter can be used to deliver drugs to the coronary and peripheral vasculatures. The Hudson, New Hampshire firm believes that this approach can help reduce systemic effects of the therapeutic.
