Baxter has prevailed in an ongoing patent dispute with Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), after a US district court in California judged the latter to be guilty of infringement and ordered the company to pay royalties to Baxter on sales of its 2008K haemodialysis machine. In addition, FMC was ordered to stop manufacturing and selling the product in the US from January 1 2009.
