Swedish healthcare IT and medical technology company Sectra has enlisted Medical Expert as a distributor of its products in Japan in a move to strengthen its position in the world's number two market for medical technology. Medical Expert provides medical imaging products to both the private and public healthcare sectors in central and eastern Japan, according to Sectra. The deal covers Sectra's PACS system and orthopaedic pre-operative planning tool, although this could be extended to include additional products in the future. Linkoping-based Sectra said that it will also set up its own customer support team in Japan. Sectra's products have been available in Japan since 1998 and the devices are installed in over 60 hospitals in the country.
