Mobile surgery specialist Vanguard launches UK dentistry service

Executive Summary

Today sees the launch in the UK of what is being billed as the first mobile dentistry service, to be provided through the National Health Service (NHS). Vanguard Healthcare Solutions, an established operator of mobile surgery units, has teamed up with DentalXpress to launch the latter's "acute access programme" in the NHS Leicestershire County and Rutland primary care trust (PCT), with two "high-tech" mobile units. A further six PCTs are said to be in discussions to launch similar services. Gloucester-based Vanguard operates 37 mobile surgical units (including for endoscopy and day surgery, and operating theatres) for NHS and private healthcare providers.
