Ascension Orthopedics, an Austin, Texas firm specialising in extremity implants made from pyrolytic carbon, has appointed Guy Mayer as president and CEO. Mr Mayer's career spans over 30 years, and includes senior management positions in Zimmer, Picker International and Visen Medical and Etex. Most recently, he was president of RTI Biologics, a role he assumed after the company merged with Tutogen Medical (where Mr Mayer was previously president and CEO).
