The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria has brought the experience of health system development into its ranks, with the appointment of Ethiopia's health minister, Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, as chairman of the board. Ernest Loevinsohn, director-general of the global initiatives directorate at the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), was elected vice-chair.
