Executive Summary
The Argentine government has approved the construction of seven general hospitals – with "many more" planned – after failing to secure the political support for a 23-hospital building programme. At an overall cost of Peso742m (US$221m), five will be funded from the budgets of the health and social services ministries and two will be financed by the Presidency. In addition, 15 new health centres have been approved, under an ongoing primary care investment programme.
