EnteroMedics to raise $16m private money

Neuroblocking technology specialist EnteroMedics is set to bulk up its coffers with nearly $16m which it will raise through a private placement of shares with several investors. The St Paul, Minnesota firm said it will use the funds to support ongoing clinical studies of its VBLOC vagal blocking therapy and gain premarket approval of its first obesity product.
