European medtech industry association Eucomed is calling for a complete ban on the reuse of medical devices labelled as single-use and wants legislation to be put in place to ensure that hospitals are not using, or are not directed to use, single-use devices more than once1. The practice of reusing single-use devices, Eucomed reiterates, could jeoparidise the safety of patients and healthcare professionals.
