MEDICAL DEVICE HARMONIZATION PRINCIPLES spearheaded by the Global Harmonization Task Force are slowly being adopted by countries with less established regulatory systems. At the GHTF’s ninth meeting in Singapore, representatives of the task force’s five founding members reported substantial progress toward implementing GHTF guidances, which eventually are expected to form the building blocks of a unified regulatory approach for devices. Asian and Latin American/Caribbean regional groups provided updates on their use of GHTF work items.
