FDA Spending To Rise 5% Under End-Of-The-Year Budget Agreement

House and Senate appropriators agreed to give FDA a 5% spending increase for 2016 under a budget deal reached early in the morning of Dec. 16. However, a vote on the spending bill is not expected until Friday by the House, and not until next week by the Senate. Additional dollars for FDA to combat antibiotic resistant bacteria and promote precision medicine are in the deal.
