GAO Urges More Focus On Medicare Home Dialysis Costs

The Government Accountability Office issued a report urging CMS to improve the reliability of its cost data on home dialysis versus in-center dialysis, and to consider revising` rates to remove disincentives for the former. GAO also suggested expanding the statutory Kidney Disease Education benefit, but HHS said that is not in the president's budget.
