Executive Summary
Sorin Group is expanding its U.S. sales organization to market Paradym CRT Model 8750, a next-generation implantable defibrillator for management of cardiac resynchronization and anti-tachyarrhythmia therapy in heart failure patients, the firm announced earlier this month. FDA approved a supplemental PMA for the device on Oct. 27. Paradym delivers 37 Joules of energy, the highest of any implantable ICD, Sorin claims. The firm has sold the device in Europe since 2008, and is awaiting regulatory approval in Japan
