National Institutes of Health's Clinical Center research hospital will house a newly established Center for Interventional Oncology, focused on studying and developing imaging technologies for diagnosing and treating localized cancers, NIH announces April 22. Center Chief Bradford Wood says the center will "help bridge the gap between emerging technology and the everyday practice of medicine." The goal is to enhance localized cancer treatment and drug delivery using advanced imaging technologies such as magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography and computed tomography
