NCI laparoscopy port: Closed-circuit, airtight obturator allows transfer of fluids or gas into laparoscopic working space for transmission of chemotherapeutics and thermoregulated fluids. The prosthetic device is 11 mm in diameter and 4.5 inches long; it can also be used as a working channel for insertion of laparoscopic instruments. The National Cancer Institute's Jason Wynberg invented the port, available via licensing or a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA).
