SPECTRANETICS LASER SHEATH PACER/ICD LEAD REMOVAL SYSTEM TRAINING seminars for new users will commence in January, the firm says, following FDA approval Dec. 9 for use as an adjunct to conventional lead extraction tools in patients suitable for transvenous lead removal. Shipments of the fiberoptic device for removing pacemaker and implantable cardioverter defibrillator leads began immediately to the 39 U.S. clinical sites that have already been trained in device use. The system lists for $1,850.
