Medtronic: Gains FDA approval to market the Micro Jewel II implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, the company announces Nov. 10. The 54 cubic centimeter, 97 gram device will complement Medtronic's Micro Jewel ICD, launched in the U.S. market in July ("The Gray Sheet" July 8, I&W-1). Medtronic says the small size of the Micro Jewel II could make the device "more comfortable for persons of smaller stature."
