PERKIN-ELMER PRESIDENT AND CEO TONY WHITE brings restructuring experience from Baxter that should help him in one of the principal tasks of his new post -- shoring up Perkin-Elmer's analytical instrument and life science systems businesses. White left his post as executive VP of Baxter International to take the helm at Perkin-Elmer on Sept. 12. He replaces Gaynor Kelley who remains a member of the company's board and chairman of the board's executive committee. Perkin-Elmer began looking for a new chief earlier this year after Kelley announced plans to retire.
