Executive Summary
FDA'S OPHTHALMIC DEVICES DIVISION CONSOLIDATING CONTACT LENS BRANCHES under a pilot reorganization of the division to be imple-mented Sept. 5. The two branches will be combined and renamed the "Vitreal and Extraocular Devices Branch," reflecting the addition of devices such as tamponades, gases and silicone gels to the branch's purview. These devices currently are reviewed by DOD's Surgical and Diagnostic Devices Branch.
