NIH SCIENTISTS NAMED AS CO-INVENTORS ON BRCA1 GENE PATENT under an agreement reached by the National Institutes of Health, the University of Utah and Salt Lake City-based Myriad Genetics. The Feb. 10 agreement, announced by Myriad on Feb. 15, "recognizes that scientists from all three institutions, led by Mark Skolnick of Myriad Genetics and the University of Utah, should be named as joint inventors in current patent applications relating to the discovery of the BRCA1 gene."
