Executive Summary
Launches two models of its Jewel biphasic implantable defibrillators with Active Can technology in international markets. Model 7219C, which provides cardioversion, defibrillation, and tachyarrhythmia pacing, is released in Canada, the European Community, and Latin America; Model 7202C, with cardioversion and defibrillation capability, enters the EC and Latin American markets. The Active Can feature allows the Jewel system to be implanted pectorally with a single Transvene transvenous lead because the device case serves as an electrode ("The Gray Sheet" Sept. 27, 1993, I&W-6).
