Executive Summary

Signs agreement to give the 67-member University Hospital Consortium up to $10 mil. in ventilators, support services, parts, and professional training, the company says. The terms of the contract call for UHC to conduct a year-long, multi-site study comparing the length of ventilator use by patients on Siemens' Servo 300 with the length of use by patients on other ventilators. A retrospective study conducted in Holland concluded that the Servo 300 reduces patient time spent on a ventilator and in the intensive care unit, Siemens says. The company pledges to reduce the price of the Servo 300 if the device does not cut patient stays by 10%
