Raises $13 mil. through private placement managed by Alex. Brown & Sons. The proceeds will "strengthen our research efforts and manufacturing capabilities as we ready our products for the marketplace," the firm, formerly called Optical Sensors for Medicine, says in a July 8 release. The privately held Minneapolis-based company is developing a diagnostic fiber optic blood gas monitoring system in conjunction with Marquette Electronics ("The Gray Sheet" July 13, 1992, p. 12); a 510(k) for the device was "recently filed" with FDA.
