Executive Summary
Board member Allan Rubenstein, MD, assumes chairmanship of the company following the resignation of Arthur Bass, the firm announced April 13. Rubenstein is founder and president of the MRI and CAT scan equipment provider MTV Imaging Services, Inc. and an associate professor and director of the Mt. Sinai Neurofibromatosis Research and Treatment Center in New York City. He has been a board member of Cooper since July 1992 and has chaired the board's management committee since October. Bass, who is taking a medical leave of absence, will remain on Cooper's board. Bass had assumed the post of acting chairman in May 1992 amidst allegations of mismanagement by Cooper's former co-chairmen ("The Gray Sheet" June 1, 1992, p. 32).
