Executive Summary
Medical Microinstruments SPA (MMI; robotic microsurgery technology) completed a €20mm ($24.5mm) Series A round led by Andera Partners (formerly Edmond de Rothschild Investment Partners) with new backers Panakes Partners and Fountain Healthcare also participating. (All three added board members.) Sambatech, a returning seed investor, as well as Gus Castello (formerly an SVP with Intuitive Surgical) and John Engels (founder of AxoGen) also joined the round.
