Executive Summary
New investor Abingworth Management led a $65mm Series C financing for Sientra Inc. (implantable devices for cosmetic and reconstructive surgery). Returning shareholders also joined, including Clarus Ventures and OrbiMed Advisors. The money will support marketing activities for the company’s Silimed portfolio of silicone gel breast implants, approved by the FDA in early March.
