Executive Summary
Marconi has created a joint venture with Oxford GlycoSciences (drug discovery based on genomics and proteomics) called Confirmant Ltd. to integrate Marconi's broadband data transmission and hosting abilities into OGS's proteome databases, specifically its Protein Atlas of the Human Proteome and data analysis software. The human proteome database is expected to provide pharma companies with real-time information on genes that encode for proteins. This data will then be used to develop products to diagnose and treat patients.
