Executive Summary
Combining microfluidic technology company Cepheid's automated real-time PCR and sample preparation systems with Infectio Diagnostic Inc.'s (DNA-based genomics) molecular diagnostic reagents, the two private companies have formed a 50/50 joint venture--ARIDIA (Automated Rapid Identification and Detection of Infectious Agents)--to develop tests that detect infectious diseases.
