The appointment of Loper, who also previously served as deputy chief of staff for House majority leader Tom Delay, R-Texas, fills a Republican slot in AdvaMed's bipartisan lobbying team that was vacated in February when former Bush White House aide Amy Jensen Cunniffe left the association to join GE Healthcare. Senior Executive VP David Nexon, former health policy advisor to Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., also plays a major role in AdvaMed's lobbying effort
