AdvaMed board: Edwards Lifesciences CEO Michael A. Mussallem officially took the role of chairman of AdvaMed's board of directors March 13 at the association's annual meeting in La Quinta, Calif. He succeeded Becton Dickinson CEO Edward J. Ludwig. Mussallem has chaired the board's payment and health care delivery committee for the past two years and previously headed the international committee. AdvaMed also named Beckman Coulter CEO Scott T. Garrett chair of the technology and regulation committee, Medtronic CEO William Hawkins chair of the payment committee and Advanced Medical Optics CEO James V. Mazzo chair of the board's international committee
