Thoratec: HeartMate left-ventricular assist device manufacturer revamps its team of cardiovascular division VPs, with David Farrar, PhD, being assigned to the newly created post of VP-research & scientific affairs. Farrar previously was VP-research & development. Laxmi Peri, formerly with St. Jude Medical, takes over as VP-technology & product development and Steven Brandt assumes the VP-sales & marketing position.
