Executive Summary
VP-Federal Government Relations Jim Smith will join the American Health Care Association as senior VP on Aug. 9 after four years of service with the device trade group. His departure continues a marked turnover in AdvaMed management, which has seen former Exec VP-Federal Government Relations Steve Ubl and VP-Public Affairs Lisa Wolfington leave to form their own consultancies. Other recent losses include AdvaMed's MTLI Executive Director Nancy Singer to an exec recruiting firm and VP-Global Strategy & Analysis Marjory Searing to Pfizer. Searing recently was replaced by former Assistant U.S. Trade Representative Ralph Ives (1"The Gray Sheet" July 19, 2004, p. 24). Associate VP-Federal Government Relations Steve Tilton, who came to AdvaMed in June 2003 from the House Energy & Commerce Committee, is expected to join the list of staff departures shortly...
