Executive Summary
Former General Accounting Office healthcare chief William Scanlon, PhD, Humana VP/Chief Actuary John Bertko and Permanente Federation Executive Director Francis Crosson, MD, will join the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission. Smithsonian Institution Undersecretary for American Museums & National Programs Sheila Burke and University of Pennsylvania Health System CEO Ralph Muller will be retained for an additional three-year term. However, University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina VP Allen Feezor, Harvard University Division of Health Policy Research & Education Director Joseph Newhouse, PhD, WellPoint Health Networks Chief Actuary Alice Rosenblatt and Aetna Chairman/CEO John Rowe, MD, will not return.
