Revisions to state implementation plan will delete requirements which are duplicated in federal consumer products standards, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality says in Sept. 26 Texas Register. SIP will be submitted to EPA in February. Both the Texas and federal consumer products rules are based largely on CARB regulations and are identical for most consumer product categories, TCEQ says. Eliminating duplicative requirements will facilitate enforcement and compliance, while maintaining comparable environmental protection, agency adds.
