Executive Summary

PERFUMER'S WORKSHOP WATERCOLORS BOWING IN DEPARTMENT STORE DOORS including J.C. Penney's in late May. The six-SKU line will be available exclusively in lower-end department stores until December when the company will begin offering selected products in the mass market. Perfumer's Workshop has used a similar strategy for almost all of its fragrance portfolio including Samba, Rosebud and Tea Rose. Rosebud bowed in 1,000 to 1,500 department and specialty store doors before moving into the mass market ("The Rose Sheet" Nov. 8, 1993, p. 6).
